Ila Jean Hadfield

April 26, 1930 ~ August 25, 2022

 

Ila Jean Hadfield, better known as “Grandma Jean”, 92, passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2022 surrounded by loved ones. She was born on April 26, 1930 in Salt Lake City to John K. and Velda Bennett.

 

She was raised in the Ogden area and graduated from Ogden High School. After high school she attended and graduated from the Gemological Institute of America in Southern California. She was extremely proud of her degree and helped her father build the family business, Bennett’s Jewelry.

 

Ila Jean married Reed Shupe Robins, he passed away at an early age in 1971. While she was working at Hill Air Force Base she met and later married William “Bill” Hadfield, Bill passed in 2010.

 

She loved to travel, visit the family cabins and spend time with her family. She was a member of the Eagles Club and the Gut Bucket Band.

 

Ila Jean is survived by her sons, Rodd Robins, Jeff Robins, Larry Hadfield and Lynn Hadfield; many grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, William Hadfield; son, David Robins; three brothers and her parents.

 

Funeral services will be held on Friday September 2, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family from 12:30-1:30 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
