For the primary time in 60 years, the crown which shall be used on the coronation of King Charles III has been faraway from the Tower of London for “modification work,” IDEX On-line reviews. The late Queen Elizabeth II wore it final when she was topped in 1953.
St Edward’s Crown is the historic centerpiece of the Crown Jewels and was made for Charles II in 1661. It’s produced from strong gold, has a complete of 444 treasured and semi-precious stones, and weighs 2.23 kilograms.
In a press release, Buckingham Palace introduced that the crown had been moved to an “undisclosed location,” forward of the coronation on Might 6. The palace has not given any particulars on the deliberate modifications.
