Valuable stones, high-value artwork seized in NI searches


A sequence of searches focusing on organised crime have led to the seizures of high-value paintings, valuable stones, designer items and money in Northern Eire.

Detectives from the PSNI, together with Neighbourhood Policing Group and Tactical Help Group officers, carried out 10 searches yesterday and immediately in Crossmaglen, Lurgan, Larne, Glenarm and Carnlough.

Together with round £40,000 and €25,000 euro, the searches resulted within the seizure of watches, weaponry together with machetes, over 100 rounds of illegally held ammunition, an imitation firearm and suspected hashish, based on Detective Inspector Conor Sweeney.

“A hashish ‘develop home’ was additionally found at one of many areas,” Mr Sweeney mentioned.”We stay dedicated to finding and seizing unlawful medicine to take such harmful substances off the streets.”

Mr Sweeney added that the PSNI depends on the neighborhood to “assist us and can act on any data you may present us, so I’d ask anybody with details about any criminality to contact police”.
