Two royals have worn ruby engagement rings in latest a long time, the late Princess Margaret and Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York.

The sister of Queen Elizabeth II was given a ruby engagement ring by Antony Armstrong-Jones with a floral design, whereas Sarah’s ruby engagement ring was given to her by Prince Andrew and crafted by the royal jeweller Garrard.

Charlotte defined: “The Duchess of York’s ring, like her daughter’s [Princess Eugenie], was a cluster ring with the ruby surrounded by diamonds.

“Nonetheless, Princess Margaret’s ring was extraordinary – a ruby flanked by diamonds within the form of petals to appear like a Rose, which was her center identify. An extremely lovely and nostalgic piece.”
