Solely two fancy vivid pink diamonds are identified to be bigger than this one, and of these just one has ever appeared at public sale. The CTF Pink Star, an oval-shaped fancy vivid pink stone weighing a monumental 59.60 carats, was offered at public sale in April 2017 for $71.2 million, setting a world report for the “costliest diamond, gemstone or jewel”, that also stands 5 years later.

Pink diamonds, nevertheless, are completely different, as no discovered hint parts have ever been recognized. As an alternative, the distinctive color is regarded as created by distortions within the diamond’s crystal lattice, brought on by immense warmth and stress.

To this finish, colored diamonds are extremely wanted by sellers and collectors alike, due to all of the stones despatched to the Gemological Institute of America or GIA for verification and grading, lower than 3 per cent are deemed to be colored diamonds. Of these, lower than 5 per cent are categorized as being pink, making it the rarest diamond of all.
